About EINS-STUDIOS and OMARURU, NAMIBIA
Eins-Studios is made up of the main house and 3 Live-In Studios. The entire property, including the main house, has a size of 1800 sqm – with a terrace and a swimming pool. Situated in the main house there is a small gallery, a large work- and showcase room including print press facilities.
Rosenberg Studio is the most private studio (20 sqm) with a 2,40m large glazed double door. It has its own entrance, garden and grill area. It also includes an integrated kitchen and bathroom.
Tower Studio has 2 rooms with a sansibar bed and two single beds at the top. The top room is full of light and gives you a great view with a sundowner. This flat has an integrated kitchen area and a separate bathroom.
Tree studio is the biggest by 34 sqm. The kitchen area is nicely integrated, the bathroom is well designed with a big shower and lots of light. There are Guava trees standing around the entrance of the flat, hence the title.
All 3 studios have access to Wi-Fi (WLAN) and washing machine facilities are in the main house.
Eins-Studios are situated in a parallel street to the main street in the village Omaruru, where you’ll find supermarkets, cafes including a petite chocolate factory. Omaruru is located in the centre of Namibia, circa 230km from Windhoek and 240km from the coast and the energy is one of peaceful quietness. National and international artists are drawn into the village naturally. Omaruru has recently been enriched with an art school. Once a year an „Art Fair“ event takes place attracting artists and keen enthusiasts from near and far to join the pilgramage (10-12 May 2019).
Surrounding Omaruru are lodges that offer day trips to explore Africa’s wildlife as well as local farm products and cheese. One of 4 Namibian wine farms is situated on the outskirts of the village.
The artists who are invited to stay on the campus are free to work on their own individual themes. There is the option to work also together as a collective.
